{Gratitude} Day 1

You betcha I am hopping on this 30 days of gratitude train! My reasons for doing so: I will have more than 10 posts this month. Reason 2: I have so much to be grateful for! Play along, read along, or go eat a cookie? Either way, let's begin.

Today I am grateful for friendships that stand the test of time. My mom and I went to the wedding reception tonight of my darling friend Brooke, who I have been friends with since 6th grade! We were true blue best friends all throughout middle school, and to this day I think the world of her. Her reception was beautiful, and she looked stunning. I was thinking about Brooke today as I was going  throughout my day, and I will share one of my favorite memories of Brooke.

In 8th grade, as 8th graders are, Brooke and I were boy crazy. One day I was at her house after school and we decided to make like Taylor Swift and burn pictures of Brooke's "ex-boyfriend." Brooke's parents weren't home yet, so we took pictures of this poor boy into the bathroom and proceded to light them on fire. About 10 seconds later, the fire alarms in Brooke's house started going off and we started panicking! We threw the pictures in the sink and turned on the water and ran around opening doors and windows. Just as we opened the front door, we saw Brooke's dad driving down the street. We were literally running around spraying air freshener and trying to dispose of the soggy/burned pictures... yeah, it's an entertaining thought, is it not?

Just as Brooke's dad walked in the door, the alarms stopped going off and their house smelled strongly like febreze :)

Haha just thinking about that day makes me laugh! I love that girl, and I'm so happy for her and cute Danny!

Cutest 8th graders?

Thanks to facebook for making this picture available.
 Congrats Brooke and Danny:)
